In the case of an existing PMU, I first need to see it with a good photo or in an initial consultation on site to be able to say what the various options for improvement are. Unfortunately, however, correction is not always possible. In these cases, I recommend a laser treatment to remove the old pigmentation and then rebuild the brow.
Before every treatment appointment, there is a detailed consultation in which we clarify exactly what you have in mind and whether this is feasible, as not every method is suitable for every skin type. Once the method has been clarified, we use my color charts to select a suitable color for you. There are many things to consider here, such as the skin filter (melanin, globalin, carotene) and the desired durability. Your face is then measured to determine the most optimal shape. In addition to the measurement, I always take into account aspects such as facial expressions, character and the desired look. Only when you are 100% satisfied with the preliminary sketch do we start the treatment.
I plan 3 hours per treatment, including preliminary consultation and marking. On average, I need between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours for the pigmentation itself, depending on the technique used and how large or narrow the eyebrows are.
Unfortunately, pigmentation is not always possible, for example if you have sunburn on your eyebrows, are pregnant or have severe diabetes. You can find a detailed list of all contraindications under the menu item “KNOWLEDGE” -> “CONTRAINDICATIONS”.
In fact, this question is asked more often because this is also done when tattooing. However, when pigmenting, we don't go down to the root of the hair. We are happy with every little hair! :)
Permanent make-up should be well thought out, as there are a few things to consider before and after the treatment. You can find out how best to prepare for the individual treatments and what you need to bear in mind afterwards under the menu item KNOWLEDGE/PREPARATION/ AFTERCARE.
This cannot be said across the board, as it varies depending on the skin type and intensity of UV radiation. Daylight and too much sunbathing or tanning beds, for example, cause pigmentation to fade more quickly. You should also be careful with chemical peelings, which are increasingly found in skin creams these days (BHA, retinol, etc.). Applying a high sun protection factor on a daily basis, for example, can ensure a longer shelf life. Of course, you always have the option of having your permanent make-up refreshed or partially redesigned, but it must be at least 50% faded.
Roughly speaking, microblading is a manual method in which the skin is scratched and nanobrows, combibrows and powderbrows are mechanical methods in which the skin is pricked. Care at home accounts for a third of the success of the treatment, so please pay very close attention to the care instructions I give you after your appointment. Your skin and physical condition and the external factors you expose it to after the treatment also play a major role. For hygienic reasons, the pigmented areas of skin should not come into contact with water, cosmetic products or sweat (no sport) for at least a week after the treatment and should not be exposed to sunlight (including solariums).
Immediately after the treatment, the treated area may still be slightly reddened and a little tight, but this should improve after a few hours. The PMU looks darker immediately after the treatment and also in the first few days than it will look in the end, which is why you need to be patient. A PMU is not just a quick treatment, but a process. Within the first few days, a slight crust may form, which is responsible for the “darkening” and will disappear after around 7-10 days. After this, your PMU will appear significantly lighter and also softer or more powdery. In the course of the healing process (4-6 weeks), the color will darken a little again. You will receive both the care and the care instructions from me directly after the treatment to take home with you.
I only work with high-quality paints that comply with current regulations (REACH regulation) and are vegan or vegan friendly. Each of my paints has an SDS (safety data sheet) that shows exactly what is contained in the paint and in what concentration.
Personally, I am not a fan of anesthetics, as they can cause the skin to swell and affect pigmentation and healing. Patients who are very sensitive to pain can be anaesthetized during treatment in an emergency. To give you an idea, on a pain scale of 1-10, nanobrows are a 3 and combination and powder brows are a 5. When it comes to eyelash enhancement, customers tend to talk about a “tickle”.
